Salary sacrifice is an arrangement under which an employee agrees to give up some of their gross salary, that is your salary before income tax, National Insurance Contributions ("NIC") and the Health and Social Care Levy (“HSCL”) have been deducted, in exchange for their employer’s agreement to provide a non-cash benefit, such as a company car.
There is no need to pay a deposit, no effect on personal credit files, and all monthly costs barring any fuel or electricity are combined into one monthly package – removed from the salary before deducting tax. This includes leasing costs, maintenance, insurance, car tax (VED), and breakdown cover.
Should you wish to join the Scheme you would formally agree to sacrifice part of your gross salary. In return your employer will provide you with a zero-emission company car, which will be leased by your employer via CBVC Vehicle Management Limited.
Within all schemes the following is included:
You will be provided with a welcome pack when your vehicle arrives documenting all the relevant contact information you will need to manage the maintenance of your vehicle. Equally you can use the CBVC Driver App to manage your maintenance bookings
You save on income tax and National Insurance Contributions as the amount sacrificed is deducted from your gross salary. You will be able to drive a zero-emission electric vehicle for a considerably lower amount than you would be able to if you were to lease privately. There are no upfront costs or credit checks required.
This is down to your employer’s discretion, but any sacrifice made cannot take you below the national minimum wage
All quotations are valid for 28 days, subject to manufacturer price and discount changes
The scheme runs for a length of 2, 3, or 4 years
Upon enquiry, we will provide you with an estimated lead time for the vehicle. Vehicles in stock can be delivered within 4 weeks of all relevant paperwork being signed, however factory orders are subject to the information we are provided with by the supplying dealer network at the point of order. Please note, these lead times are the dealers best estimate based on the information provided from the manufacturer and are subject to change.
To be able to participate, in addition to being eligible for motor insurance, you must earn a salary sufficient to enable the sacrifice due under the Scheme to be made without reducing your post sacrifice revised salary below the National Minimum Wage.
Your employer may also have their own stipulations, such as being over a certain age (i.e., 21/25), are on a permanent contract, are not subject to any disciplinary proceedings, and have not given notice of your intention to leave employment
All makes and models of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) are available on the scheme
As you enter the final nine months of your contract, CBVC will work with you to arrange a replacement vehicle to tie in with the end of your existing agreement should you wish to take another vehicle out on contract.
No, as this agreement is a business contract hire lease, you will not own the vehicle at the end of the contract. Dependent on the finance provider, you may be able to request a purchase price for the vehicle.
As the vehicle is leased through your employer, if you were to leave your job, the vehicle would be returned, and your contract would end.
